Our twin room with en suite shower, bar, TV was functional...
The bed was too soft, that's sad thing.

We enjoyed this place, it's pleasant and relaxing. Please let the efficient and courteous staff know of our gratefulness for a fairly nice stay. The location is handy, 3 km from Iron Age Hill Fort. The English bar is superb.

The atmosphere was cute, with friendly staff and a lovely outside seating area. The food, particularly the pasta, was good. The room was hot and the windows couldn't be secured properly, causing concerns about safety. The overall condition of the hotel appeared neglected, which detracted from the experience.

It's near the Costwold way.
It belongs to a larger chain that owns several hotels and restaurants.

Good location and room. Food choice was excellent and meal was perfect. Nice to have a proper slice of plate pie and not a beef stew with a fluffy ball on top! Very attractive staff!
Service was a little haphazard in the bar, but no real problem, perhaps some staff were new to the job. Usual problem of noisy guests later and earplugs being required. It would be a good idea if they performed a "patrol" after 11pm and told these inconsiderate individuals to belt up. This applies to all hotels, not just this one

Character-filled older building, Cozy outdoor seating areas, Comprehensive breakfast options
Severe noise from the nearby main road disturbing sleeps, Outdated decor giving a neglected feel to the hotel!!! I expected more attention to cleanliness in communal areas!!!

Very efficient staff and triendly welcoming hotel manager. Very good English Breakfast and plenty of car parking space
I stayed in a single room, I pointed out to the manager that paint was peeling of a radiator, and that in the bathroom there was some black mildew present in the window frame. The manager said that he would fix these issues. I was looking with a critical eye but for 1 night in a single room it was broadly speaking satisfactory.

Although power went out shortly after our arrival, the staff was very helpful about an alternative dinner location (The Dog Inn) which was just a short drive and great. The breakfast at the hotel was wonderful, check in/check out smooth, close to Bath, staff knowledgeable about history of hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.

We were able to leave car and go walking nearby. Staff were helpful .
Situated on a noisy crossroad and due to unusually hot weather we had to leave windows open during the night .
